When
A great cool water lure, fishing it in the Fall & Winter all the way to early-mid Spring for the most part.
How
During the Fall/Winter months, a moderate “snap, snap, pause” works well, but as the water gets cooler, a longer pause is usually the ticket. Counting down, you can tell pretty well which water column you’re in. Use a Palomar Knot or a loop knot, depending on how much freedom you want to see in the snaps you make.
